Johnny Hoogerland – the designer of the Wörthersee Gravel Race course 2024
As the current Gravel and Gran Fondo World Champion and proud owner of a guesthouse on Lake Wörthersee, Johnny Hoogerland is not only a celebrated cyclist, but also the designer of the Wörthersee Gravel Race course.
“For me, Lake Wörthersee combines the best cycling conditions, quality of life and marvellous landscapes. These elements inspired me to design a route that not only offers a sporting challenge, but also emphasises the beauty of this unique region.”
Working closely with Johnny Hoogerland, Paco Wrolich, former Tour de France participant and cycling coordinator for the state of Carinthia, contributed his expertise and experience. Having grown up in the Rosental valley, Paco knows every stone and branch in the region. Winding paths and challenging climbs guarantee a worthy route.
